Tejano Music Award Winner, Megan Leyva, is about to release her newest album entitled “ENCONTRE MI CAMINO”!  However, her music career as a Tejano artist began when she was just thirteen years old. It was at this very young age that she recorded her first CD demo with Hacienda Records. With a lot of hard work, determination, and the continuous support of her rising fan base—Megan followed her recording of the demo with the release of her first studio album entitled "La Amistad" in 2002 (Hacienda Records).

Despite entering the music industry at such a young age, Megan continued to work hard at her career by making presentations on TV, radio, newspaper, and magazine interviews. One of her very first performances in Texas was that of the Cinco de Mayo festival held in San Antonio.  The response in the Capitol of Tejano Music was just tremendous.  This Michigan native has shared the stage with amazing Tejano artists (in the promotion of her music and albums) including Jimmy Gonzalez y Groupo Mazz, Hugo Guerrero, Frijoles Romanticos, Iman, Cha Cha Jimenez y los Chachos, Alma Tejana, Javier Galvan (FAMA), La Traizion, and more. Megan also performed in Las Vegas in 2005 with many of today’s rising Tejano artists at the TEJANO VEGAS SHOWCASE!

One of her most honorable performances and high points in her young career took place in Lansing, Michigan for the 7th Annual Cesar E. Chavez Commemorative Dinner (2002) where Megan was chosen to sing the national anthem. The dinner featured the well-known respected actor, Edward James Olmos, (Selena, Mi Familia) as the guest speaker!

In addition to all of this excitement, Megan presented the 'Male Entertainer of the Year' award to Jimmy Gonzales (Jimmy Gonzalez y Grupo Mazz) at the 22nd annual Tejano Music Awards. Megan was a nominee herself that night for ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’. Megan also presented ‘Most Promising Band’ to the Chris Perez Band the following year.  In the next few years, Megan did not stop at just presenting, but was the winner of the ‘2003 RISING FEMALE STAR’ award the following year at the 23rd annual Tejano Music Awards.

As she continued to rise in her career, Megan earned herself her first top five nomination in 2004 for ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ with her 2004 release "Cara de Angel".  “Cara de Angel”, the follow up album to the 2002 release “La Amistad”, had much success in the Tejano Music Industry.  It continued to help Megan form herself a niche in the Tejano Music World. “Cara de Angel” received a great response from Tejano fans everywhere and had several #1 radio hits including La Misma Moneda, the catchy ranchera Estar Sin Ti, and the Shania Twain cumbia Y Sigues Siendo Tu.  Megan’s single entitled Tu Amor y Mi Amor also held numerous top ten spots on radio all over the country and held the #1 spot on B-NET radio for several weeks!

It's now 2007, and what a great year it has been so far! Megan started out the year by earning four top 5 Tejano Music Award nominations for her album "SIEMPRE PARA TI". This Eddie Perez produced album truly shows Megan’s growth as an artist as it features song(s) that she has penned herself for the first time.  Grammy Award winner, Gilbert Velasquez, also took part in the production of “SIEMPRE PARA TI”!  Megan toured the state of Texas as well as other surrounding states for a RADIO TOUR in promotion of her new album and it was received greatly by the Tejano music fans all over! She will soon be on her way to promote her newest album ENCONTRE MI CAMINO. This album is a reflection of what a great place Megan is at in her life as she's finely found that there's nothing more important than pursuing her dream and giving that dream everything she has! The album includes two songs Megan wrote herself and shows her continuing progression as a songwriter. Watch out for the album's debut on San Antonio's GREAT DAY SA on Channel KENS 5 October 19.
